Taste of Galil
Camp Galil is pleased to present our Taste of Galil program for campers completing 2nd grade!
Taste of Galil began in 2010 with a group of four girls, then grew and went coed for 2011. Of the four participants in our initial year, all have returned as full campers, even more prepared and enthusiastic about the Jewish summer camp experience that Galil offers.
Our program spans four days and nights, including a Shabbat so our campers can get the full Jewish camping experience that Galil offers.
The Taste of Galil counselors tailor the program specifically for this age group, ensuring that every child's needs are taken care of. In order to cater to our youngest camp experience, the staff to camper ratio is significantly higher and all counselors have extensive training and experience in childcare.
Throughout the four days, campers will be exposed to the variety of activities that we do daily at camp including:
- swimming lessons
- craft projects
- play sports
- learn about our organic garden
- work with our lambs and chickens
- learn new Hebrew words
- celebrate Shabbat
- make challah
- and so much more!
The Taste of Galil program is designed to show the campers what Galil is like and help them to adjust to being life-long Galil campers! For that reason we call this age group Nitzanim, which means "buds" in Hebrew. Our goal is to help our campers begin to bloom at Galil and to begin a Jewish process that they will carry with them through the rest of their lives.
The total cost of the program is $500.
Taste of Galil 2012 will be held from Wednesday August 1st to Sunday August 5th. Drop-off on Wednesday will be at 10am. Pick-up on Sunday will also be at 10am.
