Shalom Chaverim V’Mishpachot,
Shalom Friends and Families,
This morning, we have traveled to a rather mucky part of the forest and came upon...Shrek’s swamp! Yes! The day has come..Yom Meyuchad (Special Day) 2018! The entire day is themed Disney’s Shrek. We started off the day with a wonderful sleep-in to gather up energy for a day full of fun activities and fantastical adventures with Shrek and all of his magical fairytale friends.
For breakfast, the chanichimot (campers) entered into Shrek’s house to eat pancakes and fruit. Afterwards, the chanichimot ventured down to the creek for a carnival where they met all the madrichimot (counselors) who were dressed as fairytale creatures such as little red riding hood, the three blind mice, and the fairy godmother. They participated in a machaneh (camp) wide obstacle course that led them eventually to the dragon's lair where we had barbecue and wings for lunch. Throughout the afternoon, the chanichimot had a green jello fight, enjoyed a pool party, and ate a “mud pudding” snack.
Later in the day, the chanichimot will watch the movie and relax a little before a fancy dinner in “Far Far Away” consisting of a delicious pasta bar. We will end the evening with a mesibah (party) celebrating the love between Shrek and Fiona and the friendships of all their fairytale friends. Yom Meyuchad is always a special treat...and today was just that!
Tomorrow, machaneh will return from Shrek’s swamp and resume a normal schedule!
Shrek: No. Layers. Onions have layers. Ogres have layers. Onions have layers. You get it? We both have layers.
Donkey: Oh, you both have layers. Oh. You know, not everybody like onions.
