Shalom, Galil Families!
After waking up at 8:00, we headed to the toren (flagpole) for hitkansut boker (morning assembly). During kulam po’s (roll call), the Tzofimot made us all laugh with their pun “Kulam Po-cession”. The Hebrew word of the day was “ach sheli” (my brother/bro). With our vocabularies enlarged, we headed off to a breakfast of brown sugar cinnamon oatmeal and scones. We then split off to do tidy up around camp.

During Sa’adnaot (specialist workshops), our friends from the Tinicum Conservancy returned to lead creek-related programming. Chanichimot embarked on a scavenger hunt around the creek to explore local biodiversity and invasive species.

Today was the Amelimot’s first time at course ropes course, and they had a blast! Amelimot sped down our zipline, braved floating elements, and spent their time off-belay playing card games and with the tire swings.

The Amelimot and other Chanichimot enthusiastically rendezvoused for a lunch of vegetable soup, grilled cheese, and chickpea salad. The day then proceeded with Chugim (elective activities). During Chugim today, Chug “Brain” went through a gauntlet of games, “Random Acts of Kindness” delivered whip cream pies to consenting faces, and “Creek” had a rock skipping competition.

Dinner was fried rice, lo mein, and spring rolls. The Tochnit Erev (evening activity) was Canada Night. To bring back the spirit of a beloved Canadian Madrich (counselor) from last year, Chanichimot were assigned to various Canadian hockey teams and competed in challenges like painting . After a late night snack of milk and cookies, we ended the day with Rad Hayom (our end of day song, meaning “The Day is Over”).
