Galil Blog
Hi Galil friends and family! Today was a beautiful Friday at Galil filled with rest, relaxation, and of course, fun! This week’s muffins included chocolate chip, sprinkles, and oreo, the classics of machaneh.
After cleaning up during avodah and nikayon, the Nitzanimot went to ropes while the rest of camp had madatz pish. The Sucarimot played a very intense game of kickball in our very own baseball diamond! Then, the Bogrimot led rikkud once again before heading over to Hyde park for a delicious pizza lunch. After we ate, we had some chofesh, played some sports, and went for a refreshing plunge in the pool.
We then got ready to welcome the Shabbat and gathered into our mishpachot. In our family groups, we talked about how our weeks went and who supported us through them. Then, we sang and said “Shabbat Shalom” to each other around the toren, up until it was time for Kabalat Shabbat. This week it was the Tzophimot’s turn to lead, and they did a wonderful job! At around the same time, the MBI-ers arrived for MBI weekend. We were so excited to see them and to hear all about their Israel adventures. Afterwards, we said the prayers and began to eat the delicious dinner cooked for us by tzevet mitbach.
Post-dinner we watched the Amelimot perform the oneg, shortly before heading over to the basketball court for rikkud. Some kids choose to stay up a little later to dance more and have some watermelon as a special treat! After an exciting but tiring day, it was time to go to bed and get ready for the day of rest tomorrow.
Shabbat Shalom!
