Fall Seminar ’24

Hello Galil families!

This past weekend we had our annual Fall Seminar! We were happy to see everyone, and celebrate the Fall and the upcoming year!

We had amazing weather and lots of fun, and want to share with you a bit about what we did!

We opened the Seminar with Shabbat dinner, and right after we had an Erev Tarbut (fun night activities Friday evening) – themed Haboween Dror!  – we brought our costumes from home, and had Halloween-inspired activities around camp! It was spooky, funny and amazing! Then, we continued with our traditional Rikkud (dancing) right after until they couldn’t anymore – and went to sleep!

Shabbat morning opened with Bogrimot running Chugim – Chill time for art and playing games, followed by Chugim that the Tzevet ran – about more serious subjects and learning new things. We moved our bodies – with Zman Sport – played some Basketball and Ultimate Frisbee. Of course, we had to celebrate Fall with some jumping into piles of leaves!

We had a short activity reflecting on the year since 10.7, run by Rony, our new Shlicha for Galil,  followed by a short tekes (ceremony), lighting candles, to honor and remember those who were killed during the war.

Of course, we had our traditional Shabbat activities that we have at camp – like Kumzitz (singing songs together) and of course – Medura (bonfire) with songs and skits.

Sunday morning, we had our Fall Picnic and Open House! We had some good food, music, played some sports, made Tie-Dye and welcomed new potential families to the Galil community!
