Galil Blog
Greetings Galil families,
I’m Liora from Madatz (CIT program) 2026 and I’m so excited to share pictures I took of this super awesome day planned out and ran by my kvutzah (age group) and I. We started off the day by not arriving at the toren (flagpole) which is not unusual for us as we tend to take a while to get ready. The difference is that when asked “Madatz kulam po? (Madatz are you here?)” We made a surprise exit from the Beit O (art building), demanding tzevet (counselors) to let us watch our morning cartoons. When they refused, we staged a kick out.

During a kick out, the kids playfully lead their counselors into their staff office building so that the Madatz can run the day without them, taking on an important leadership role which moves them a step forward towards becoming counselors.
After the counselors leave, the Madatz teach the kids a fun and catchy song parody that corresponds to the theme of the revolution, aka “Revo.” The song and poster are both written and drawn by the madatz. (Pssst, I designed the song poster.)

Breakfast time!!

On the menu today are waffles with toppings inspired by The Simpsons, and egg & cheese bagel sandwiches inspired by Steven Universe. Revo breakfasts are very different from that of a typical day because we include things that people don’t normally eat for breakfast (for example, ice cream). It’s always nice to have a sweet treat once in a while!
Once the kids had finished eating, we jumped right into our fun activities. The day started with a carnival. There were many different stations set up with activities based on cartoons. From rock wall climbing, a haunted house (where the kids scared the madatz), obstacle courses, to painting a bench to remember this unforgettable day, kids had endless possibilities of fun.

We then switched gears to run a round-robin activity based on the show Gravity Falls. The stations included the Mystery Shack, defeating the scary dragon in the pool, trivia & more!

Lunch at Bikini Bottom (SpongeBob).

Order up a fresh Krabby Patty from the Krusty Krab along with refreshing lemonade. The krabby patties were vegetarian allowing everyone an option to put cheese on it. (Fun Fact: The creator of SpongeBob confirmed that Krabby Patties are meatless.)
Pool Party!
You can’t have a SpongeBob theme without a pool party! It’s an obligation, DUH!

While all the kids are still in their bathing suits, this is a perfect opportunity to include more water activities. Water balloon fights, a slip n slide, and mastering the art of waterbending like the avatar.

What’s a cartoon day without savoring Homer Simpson’s beloved pink frosted donut? (With extra sprinkles, of course!)

The kids chilled for a while before we started the next round-robin. The stations included building sturdy houses out of cardboard, chasing after the Road Runner, cat-napping with Garfield, Scooby-Doo handkerchief tag, and some Pokémon dodge ball.

The best part of the day: Dinner and the Messibah (party)! The chadar ochel (dining hall) was decorated, kids danced to music, played a classic Bar/Bat Mitzvah game of Coke and Pepsi, enjoyed some tasty slushies, collected candy, and went for a Magic School Bus ride in the truck to end the day.

Special thanks to everyone who allowed this to happen, the madatz for planning the day, the tzevet for helping organize it and making it possible, the Bogrimot (oldest campers) for setting up and cleaning up, and the kids for their engagement, participation, and energy!
Best wishes,
Madatz ‘26 🙂
