Shalom, Galil families!
Today started with an early kima (wake-up) at 7:00 am. Why? It was time for kupa trip (special trip outside of camp)! Not knowing what the surprise destination would be, chanichimot packed day bags with swimsuits, towels, hats, sunscreen, and water bottles. We had a nutritious and delicious breakfast of biscuits, fried eggs, vegetarian sausages, fruit, yogurt, and cereal. Then, the buses arrived and we headed off to the mystery location.
After a lengthy bus ride, we hopped out at none other than Hershey Park! Many chanichimot were pleased to know that their theories had been proven right. Before we started exploring, everyone ate lunch and made sure to apply lots of sunscreen. Bellies full of sandwiches, apples, and chips, we headed into the park and split up into smaller groups.
The thrill-seeking groups made a beeline for the waterslides and big roller coasters, while the more chill groups took rides on the lazy river and hit up the bumper cars. The highlight of the trip for many of us was the Hershey’s Chocolate Factory tour, an immersive walkthrough of the process of chocolate production with a free sweet treat at the end. Before departing, everyone met up at the carousel, where kids enjoyed ride after ride while waiting for everyone to gather.
One restful bus ride later, we were back at machaneh, where we enjoyed a late dinner of burgers, hot dogs, and corn on the cob. Finally, the kids got all their extra energy out at the pool party, then headed off to bed. See you tomorrow!
