Meet First Session Tzevet!

It’s finally here! The start of Summer 2026 and we had an amazing Opening Day! First, we want to introduce you to the amazing tzevet (staff) working with the chanichimot (campers) this session. This group of Madrichimot spans four countries, multiple Habonim backgrounds and over 225 collective years of Galil experience!

In AmChotrimot, we have an incredible group of madrichimot (counselors)! First, there’s Toby, a third year madrich, from Mt. Airy who goes to Pitt. Eliyah, from Springfield, will be starting her freshman year at USC after the summer. Michael, from Philly, also goes to Pitt (where he’s in ROTC), and Harper, from Brooklyn, who’ll be starting at UC-Boulder this fall (this is Harper’s 9th summer at Galil!). And we also have Yoav, from Petach Tikvah in Israel, who grew up in HaNoar HaOved.

In Sayarimot, Gabe, from Philadelphia, will be starting his freshman year at Pitt after an amazing gap year on Workshop. This will be his 11th summer! Anya, from Wynmoor, will be heading to UPenn, and this is her 9th summer. Ronan, from Bryn Mawr, has 12 summers at Galil, and is a sophomore at Pitt. Rounding out the SayTzevet, we have Bailey, from Yardley, who will be at UDelaware, and Mayan, from Kiryat Ono in Israel.

The Pittsburgh Panthers seem to be pretty popular among the Galil tzevet these days!

In Tzofimot, we have Jonah, who just returned from Workshop, and will be heading to Waterloo. Jonah grew up in Mt Airy, and is also our song leader this summer! There’s Molly, from Bryn Mawr, also heading to Pitt, and Azi, from Center City Philly, who will be returning to Tufts. Fun fact: Azi is part of an acapella group at Tufts. Tzofimot is also joined by Daniel, from Perth Australia, who is currently on Shnat with Habonim Dror, and Meital, from Zichron Ya’akov in Israel. Meital actually came to Galil for a summer as a camper in 2014!

The amazing team in Bonimot is led by Jasmine, who’s from Yardley and heading to Pittsburgh in the fall. She’s joined by Samarra, who lives in Maryland and grew up in Tavor. She’s here after spending the best year on Workshop with a great Galil crew. Lamya is from Beit Jan in Israel, and Lamya’s older sister, Mira, was previously a summer shlicha at Galil in 2022! Theo, from Mt. Airy, will be going to Pitt in the fall after spending the past year on Workshop, and Nati, is from Philly, and heading to UMass-Amherst for his freshman year. Nati is a pro Ultimate Frisbee player!

In Bogrimot, Lillian is from Elkins Park and is switching schools to join the growing Galil crowd at Pitt where she’ll be a junior. Sam is from Bondi in Sydney Australia, and is also on the Shnat gap year with Daniel. Lola is from Vancouver Canada, and grew up going to Camp Miriam, and will be returning to McGill University. We also have Shane, from Philadelphia, who’s here for the first time, and is a rising junior at Pitt, and Toby, from Mt. Airy, who has returned from Workshop and will be at Ithaca College!

And of course, in Madatz, we have the best tzevet pair in Adam and Adi. Adam is from Newtown and will be starting his senior year in Rider University. Adi is from Hod Hasharon in Israel, and has incredible experience in Hadracha programs with HaNoar HaOved.
