We’re back in action for second session 2026! With a great opening day, this marks the last session of camp. But, don’t fret, there’s still a lot in store for the chanichimot (campers). Let’s meet the tzevet (staff) that are working with the chanichimot!
In AmChotrimot, our youngest kvutza (age group), we have an amazing group of madrichimot (counselors)! To start off, there’s Gabe E, a 2nd year madrich from Paoli, PA. Gabe is starting his junior year as a Pennstater. Mady is a 2nd year madricha from Orlando, Florida. Rotem is a first year madricha from Kiryatano, Israel. Last, but not least, we have Toby KC, a 3rd year tzevet from Mt. Airy who goes to Pitt.
In Sayarimot, we have Yoav, who is from Petach Tikvah in Israel and grew up in HaNoar HaOved, the Israeli sister movement to Habonim Dror. Along with him is Meital who is from Zichron Ya’akov, Israel, but actually attended Galil as a camper when she was young! Next we have a 3rd year madricha, Jasmine who’s from Yardley, PA and is going to Pittsburg in the fall. Last is Daniel, a 2nd year madrich, who grew up in Philadelphia and is studying at Colgate University.
In Tzofimot, we have the amazing Jonah who returned from Workshop, the Habonim Dror gap year in Israel, earlier in the summer and is planning to go to Waterloo. Jonah is also our songleader for the summer. Also in Tzofimot is Samarra, who lives in Maryland and grew up at Habonim Dror Camp Tavor in Michigan, and she’s come to Galil after also being on Workshop. Lamya is one of our shlichim, an Israeli counselor who works at an American Jewish Camp throguh a program with the Jewish Agency for Israel. Lamya is from Beit Jan in Israel, and is joined by Maayan who’s from Kiryat Ono, Israel. Finally there’s Michael from Philadelphia who is in ROTC at Pitt.
In Bonimot, Theo from Mt. Airy, will be also going to Pitt this fall after spending the last year on Workshop. Anya, from Wyndmoor, will be attending UPenn. Both have had at least 10 summers at Galil! Next is Anna who was born far away in Brussels, Belgium, but grew up outside of Boston. Anna is going to New Eastern University in the fall.
In Bogrimot, Lillian is from Elkins Park and is switching schools to join the growing Galil crowd at Pitt where she’ll be a junior. Toby B, another returning counselor after Workshop, is from Mt. Airy and is going to Ithaca College. Lastly is Nadav, he’s from Jerusalem, Israel and ran the Ken (chapter) for HaNoar HaOved.
Finally, the up and coming Madatz! The amazing pair Adam and Adi have been crushing it since first session. Adam is from Newtown, PA and will be starting his senior year at Rider University. Adi is from Hod Hasharon, Israel and is already experienced with Hadracha (leadership training) programs with HaNoar HaOved.
