Galil Blog
With second session beginning, we are so excited to introduce you to the new tzevet (couselors) of the different kvutzot (age groups). We’ve all been eagerly waiting for the chanichim (campers) to come! Without further ado, let’s meet the tzevet for our youngest kvutza, the Amelimot (artists). We have Andre, a returning tzevet member from last summer, Macy, who is coming back to Galil for his first summer in four years, Dahlia and Eli, who are both going on Workshop (Habonim Dror’s gap year in Israel) this coming year, and last but not least, Daniella, who is joining us from Habonim Dror Mexico for her first time at Galil!

Our next age group that was called Parparimot (butterflies) last session. They have second and third year tzevet members, Isaac and Charlotte respecitvley. Joining tzevet for the first time are Maddie and Aaron who are bringing a wealth of experience from their year as Madatz (C.I.T.s), and alongside them is Gal who is with us this summer from Israel.
After them, we have the Tzophimot (scouts) tzevet. Josh has come back for his second summer as a madrich (counselor) and just finished Workshop! Margot and Noah were working in the Mitbach (kitchen) last session, but they are super excited to work with the Tzophimot this session. Mira is joining us from Hanoar Haoved VeHalomed (our sister youth movement in Israel), and she’s very excited to bring her experience to the kids. Finally, we have Jackie who is also joining us from Habonim Dror Mexico.
Up next is our tzevet for our rising high schoolers, the Bonimot (builders). Juju and Amina are staying with the same chanichim from last session and are very excited to continue working with them. The new additions are Mushka who has come to join them from Israel, Jonah (he was the last Communications specialist and wrote the blog last session!), and Peri who is joining the other tzevet who are going on Workshop.

Last, but certainly not least, we have the tzevet for the Bogrimot (the graduates). The Bogrimot are our oldest chanichim at Machaneh (camp). Emmanuel and David are staying with them from last session. David is actually the head of the Ken that we operate in Philadelphia. Next, we have Philip who was with us four years ago when he came to work from Habonim Dror Mexico. He just loved it too much! Moran and Elijah, on the other hand, are both joining us for the first time. Moran is also from Hanoar Haoved VeHalomed, and Elijah is coming from a different Habonim Dror Machaneh, Moshava in Maryland. He also just came back from Workshop.
I know that we said tzevet Bogrimot were the last people we were introducing, but how could we forget our scrumptious Tzevet Mitbach (Kitchen Staff) who bring a rainbow of flavors to the Galil Mitbach (kitchen)! Led by Rosh Mitbach, Zandra, she is joined by a whole host of returning staff members, including Zoe, Cassidy, and Koby (who just returned from Workshop), as well as Laney and Hannah! And coming into Galil for the first time, we have Nikhil. Cooking during the day, his unspoken job is to bring good vibes and energy everywhere he goes.
