Opening Day – 2nd Session

Hey Galil Family!

Welcome to the Second Session!! Today we started by welcoming our Second Session friends!

Excitement filled the air as Intersession ended, and new campers entered our wonderful Camp Galil. Older siblings who are here for the Full Summer welcomed younger siblings. We welcomed campers from around the world including Mexico and France!

The kids made pita and it was a blast! They kneaded the dough themselves and watched as it became a delicious pita. The toppings, such as globs of chocolate and hummus, surrounded the kids’ smiles 🙂 Parents wrote postcards for their camper’s first day of camp.

Upon arriving at camp there was tons of unpacking to do as they settled into their new homes. The amazing tzevet (counselors) comforted the kids as new transitions can be hard. We had yummy spaghetti and meatballs for dinner, a camp classic!

To finish off the night we picked fun chugim (clubs). The counselors performed funny skits to excite the kids about the upcoming summer. The performances were about the different types of chugim here at machaneh!! The kids were exhausted after an action packed day and had a great night sleep. Zzz Camp Galil, is a magical place to spend your summer and everyone was extremely eager to begin the wonderful second session!
