Revo Pt. 2

With the end of BoCoup last night when our Bogrimot (rising 10th graders) took over camp to run the show for an afternoon, today we head right into another takeover! On Monday, the Madatz (rising seniors) kicked out the counselors and ran camp for the entire day! This session, the Revo (Revolution) theme was Disney. The chanichimot (campers) slept in late and were awoken by the Madatz and told to get ready for the fairy tales of the day! The chanichimot arrived to a breakfast fit for Princess Belle with a Beauty and the Beast theme. With French croissants, eggs, and French toast to fit the theme, the chanichimot enjoyed the delicious meal before being taught the Revo song of the day.

After some free time, the carnival station rotations began. With Aladdin carpet (mattress) racing in the Moadon, Rapunzel hair braiding, decorating Revo t-shirts, and mining for candy with the Seven Dwarfs, the chanichimot were immersed into the world of fairy tales. We then entered the swamp where we encountered 2 ogres! While watching Shrek, two ogres attacked and terrorized the chanichimot! After the ogres were scared off by the chanichimot, they were able to finish their movie in peace.

Lunch was once again fit for a princess and this time we dined with Cinderella and ate yummy pasta with garlic knots. After some more free time, the second carnival began! This carnival included climbing the rock wall like Jach and the Beanstalk, Bocce with Alice in Wonderland, a carriage (truck) ride Into the Woods, and fencing with Puss in Boots.

Next, a fairy tale cooking class and competition where the chanichimot presented their most beautiful sugary creations to an esteemed panel of judges. With many sprinkles spilled and many candy apples eaten, everyone was properly energized for the rest of the day. Some rain interrupted our plans for a pool party, but the Madatz did a fantastic job of thinking on their feet and rearranging the schedule. These are future counselors in the making!

The mesiba (party) commenced and even more candy was eaten! Picking out the non-poisonous apple, walking the plank with Captain Hook were quite fun and much less scary than in the fairy tales! After working up an appetite at the mesiba, the chanichimot has a dinner of…. Oh no! We’re eating the Ugly Duckling! Many yummy fried ducklings (chicken wings) were consumed.

With the rain now gone, it was time for a nighttime pool party! After a refreshing swim, the chanichimot headed back to their tsrifim (cabins) for what they thought was bedtime. But wait! Who is that knocking at the door? It’s Little Red Riding Hood looking for granny! While there was no granny hiding in the tsrifim, Little Red Riding Hood was kind enough to share her treats with the chanichimot for a bedtime snack. With a fun-packed day now coming to an end, the chanichimot could now rest like Sleeping Beauty to get ready for another surprise the next day!
