Galil Blog
Shalom, Galil Families!
The first Shabbat at Galil was a rejuvenating (rejewvenating?) experience for all the chanichimot (campers) at Machaneh (camp). Breakfast was a roll-in treat of pastries and sugary cereal from 8 to 10:00. Once finished eating, many chanichimot made their way to the mini-mo to play games like Euchre and Magic. The first programming of the day was run by the Bogrimot (the oldest campers), who ran chugim (elective activities) including a Spikeball tournament, journaling, and cards. We then moved on to Chug Ritz (serious chugim), which included conversations about current events, Habonim Dror history, and poetry.

After a lunch of pita and falafel, the Madatz ran the first event in their weekly color wars. Upon being split into 5 teams, Chanichimot met their teammates, illustrated posters, and created team chants.

Next up was Zman Kvutzah (age group bonding time). The Bogrimot were informed via zipline as to when their special event, Bozman, would occur.

After a break for basketball and swimming, Machaneh sat down for Musicale, a weekly musical talent show where everybody wins!

As the sun set over Machaneh, evening activities began with kumzits (singing camp songs).

Next, we welcomed in the coming week with Havadallah. We sung and danced in a spiral, then laid down for prayers.

Saturday night festivities would not be complete without medurah, our bonfire with a cast of hilarious acts put on by Chanichim.

Finally, the night came to a close with some delicious glidah (ice cream).

Laila Tov, Galil!
